Individual Therapy
Healing begins with connection. We need these connections to not only survive but thrive. Therapy is a great way of cultivating connection. When I have felt truly seen I often feel empowered. As a therapist I attempt to offer a therapeutic space where you are empowered to be the expert in your healing process. We often begin the process with an exploration of how your past relationships and attachments affect you in your everyday being in the world. Using your experience of the here-and-now to create new meaning and understanding. Fundamentally I believe it is important for everyone to have meaning, purpose, and passion. Understanding our patterns helps empower us on our journey of becoming. My practice is influenced by thinkers like Ernest Becker, Rollo May, Karen Horney, and Irvin Yalom among others.
Therapy is a commitment by both of us and an acknowledgement that we are willing to co-create new meanings and understandings in your life. Part of my philosophy is that everyone has their own language. It is my job as a therapist to be open to learning your unique language and help you learn mine. Together through this process we can co-create new language and meaning in our lives. I consider myself a continuous student in this journey of life. I will always remain open and curious and never forget to laugh a little along the way.

The environment has a major impact on our mental health. Being in the hustle and bustle of the city can be overwhelming and exhausting. Walking while you talk can be helpful to the therapeutic process. Walking improves self-perception and self-esteem, mood and sleep quality, and it reduces stress, anxiety and fatigue. Walking appointments available upon request. Parks include; Volunteer, Cal Anderson, & The Arboretum. Weather Pending. Message us for more details to get walking & talking today!
Animal Therapy with Bamboo
Bamboo is my dog. After losing my father to suicide 8 years ago while I was in college I felt lost and broken. I didn’t know how I would navigate through this world without my Dad. One day I woke up and decided that I was going to get a dog. Bamboo is a Cavachon (King Charles Cavalier and Bichon mix) and entered my life as a little four pound bundle of love. He is the sweetest most loving dog I have ever met. He is very emotionally attuned to my needs and the needs of others. Bamboo became my Emotional Support Animal. He helped me navigate the world around me and helped me fill a missing piece of my life. He always brings a smile to my face and reminds me to find joy in the small things. Bamboo is available to join my private counseling sessions upon request. He is hypoallergenic, a great cuddler and a good listener. I believe pets contribute to our overall emotional well being and I am also able to certify my clients pet’s as Emotional Support Animals if necessary.
